The purpose of Club Service is to foster the successful administration of a Rotary Club.

It is important for the Club Service Director to manage, coordinate, support, encourage and communicate with all those who are responsible for aspects of Club Service and all those who will be involved with Club Service during the year. An effective and well balanced Club involves ALL members in Club Service.

The scope of Club Service is wide, and includes:

  • Meeting Management
  • Membership Development
  • Membership Retention
  • Classifications
  • Attendance
  • Public Relations
  • Welfare
  • Club Extension
  • Programs and Speakers
  • Fellowship
  • Bulletins
  • Rotary Information
  • Rotary Magazines

Membership

Positive publicity surrounding the Rotary Centennial has raised awareness of and interest in Rotary among potential members, making an ideal time to strengthen our membership. We must also continue the retention efforts of recent years, actively involving current members in club projects.

We have seen how important a stable and growing membership was to Rotary's first century of service. Let us make every effort to secure our future by retaining active, committed Rotarians and increasing their numbers. RI President Carl-Wilhelm Stenhammar has asked clubs to develop a membership plan that will achieve a net increase of one or more members by 1 April 2006.
